What is the name of your business and what does it do?
Fit Around You Ltd, I help people achieve their fitness goals through personal and small group training – training that ‘fits around you’.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I ran a business before but it was desk based and unhealthy. I wanted a change – I decided to turn my life around and become more healthy and fit.
What challenges did you have when starting a business?
It was a leap into the unknown! It was a challenge to find the confidence to start and then once I started the journey, to spin all the plates: I had to train and learn the trade, I had to juggle my kids and the job I had at the time. It was crazy for about 6 months!
What does personal success mean to you?
It’s about making people’s lives better, helping people make a healthy change as I did; and making a home/work balance a success for me.
What is the most challenging thing about working for yourself?
Personally, for me, it was keeping my accounts up to date; this along with the marketing was all new to me. I find myself much happier being with clients than doing the day- to-day business side of things.

What is the most rewarding thing about working for yourself?
I absolutely love being my own boss! I love working with people and I feel lucky to be in the position to help others - sometimes this means people that may feel vulnerable.
How did Successful Mums and Jane help you?
Jane was extremely helpful regarding marketing and social media. Jane is so encouraging and upbeat, boosting my confidence and helping to define the needs of this particular industry. Also, always very positive too!
