Jane Knight is the Founder and CEO of the multi-award-winning Successful Mums Career Academy and a qualified coach, trainer, careers advisor and speaker.
After experiencing the challenges of returning to work as a mother herself, Jane set herself a simple goal: to help 100 mums rebuild their confidence and return to fulfilling work. What began as a small mission has grown into a nationally recognised organisation that has now supported more than 12,000 mums and women returning to work.
For over a decade, Successful Mums has been providing fully funded career advice, coaching and back-to-work accredited training courses. Jane empowers women to recognise their transferable skills and lived experience, build confidence and clarity along with uncovering the hundreds of hidden flexible jobs across many sectors that these mums might not know about.
Often described as a “college for mums”, Successful Mums delivers a wide range of free programmes through both face-to-face and online learning, supporting women at every stage of their return-to-work journey. From confidence building and career planning to digital skills, self-employment and sector-specific training, the academy prepares women for sustainable and fulfilling careers – then simply connects these women to employers on completion of the training.

Jane’s work has received widespread recognition. She was named Inspirational Professional in Adult Education at the Mayor of London’s Adult Learning Awards, received the EVAS Training and Coaching Award, won the National Women’s Business Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, the ABBAS Community Hero Award, and has been recognised in the Woman & Home Amazing Women Awards. Successful Mums has also received numerous accolades, including Best Woman-Led Business, Best Social Impact Award, Community Hero Award, and the ERSA Community Outreach Award, recognising its outstanding contribution to helping women back into work and driving social mobility.
An award-winning entrepreneur and a 10KSB Goldman Sachs Alumni, Jane works with employers, local authorities and government-funded programmes to champion women in the workplace and improve employment opportunities for mothers. She is a Board Member of EVAs and Co-Founder of the Women’s Employability Forum, bringing together employers, training providers and policymakers to share best practice and influence government policy. Jane regularly contributes to national discussions on women’s employment, skills and adult learning, including speaking in Parliament and working with policymakers to drive positive change for women returning to work.
Jane is passionate about ensuring the transferable skills gained through parenting are recognised and valued by employers. Her coaching and training inspire women to believe in themselves, take the next step in their careers and achieve personal success.
