The sun was shining and the sky was summer-time blue over Tonbridge Castle as the Successful Mums’ Taster Sessions rolled into town for the first time. A sparkly new venue, (ok it’s quite old but it’s still impressive), along with a packed room full of mums ready to find a job they love or start their own business.
The sessions in partnership with Tonbridge and West Malling Borough Council are designed to support local mums that are looking to return to work or become self-employed after a career break.
In the Find a Job you Love session, Tonbridge mums discussed the challenges of returning to work, whilst Jane advised them about where to find part-time or flexible jobs, how to craft a winning CV and how to appear confident even when you’re not!

The mums made new connections whilst indulging in some breakfast pastries and hot drinks generously provided by Sam and Emma from Tonbridge Old Fire Station.
The Business Start-up session was full of mums either wanting to start a business or owning a business already, eager to hear Jane’s tips on how to start or expand. There were mums overwhelmed with ideas, mums procrastinating and mums unsure about where to start but no matter what the obstacle, they all felt ready to overcome it by the end of the session thanks to Jane’s 12 Key Steps to Success.

In amongst the group we had some local Successful Mums graduates: Kerry Barton of Studio 23 Photography was busy snapping away, a June 2017 Successful Mums’ session attendee and Caroline Kings, a freelance writer who had also been on a Business Start-Up taster session in January 2016, recounted her journey to becoming a business owner with the group.
The sun was still shining as we said our goodbyes, the mums primed to carry out three small steps and the option to progress onto a coaching session or one of our popular funded training courses to become their very own Queen of the Castle.
