What a fantastic year! Thank you to everyone that made all our ideas and projects come together to support thousands of mums with their career and business aspirations in 2019. We are very lucky to have won awards, been nominated for some of our achievements and met so many great people along the way…

Here’s a January to December snapshot of some of our favourite bits..

January

We kick-started the year with our special career and business taster session, providing advice and tips for mums on their journey back to work, we made this special by raising funds for Demelza Charity.

February

The month of love and I loved speaking at the yearly Apprenticeship conference, lifelong learning is something I feel very passionate about. Always good to see Lindsay McCurdy too, the queen of Apprenticeships4England.

March

We established our wonderful partnership with Amy and the team at Ada & Albert, supporting Chislehurst mums back to work. Our courses included a very stylish session from Successful Mum and Business Start-up Graduate Rebecca Ffrancon who joined the group to give her top tips on a capsule wardrobe.

April

We celebrated some of our 2019 Business Start-up ladies completing their accredited training courses.

I was also flattered to be asked to The House of Commons for the Demelza Hospice Care For Children 10th Anniversary celebration.  I attended with my fabulous plus one, Daniel.  It was such a moving and humbling night and proud that Demelza are one of the charities we support.

May

We achieved the prestigious Career Advice Standard, Matrix – an important accreditation to prove we provide excellent quality career advice to women returners.

June

It was a pleasure to be asked to speak at the Umbrella Training Employer Conference by lovely Adele, to talk about the many career opportunities in hospitality.

We also held our yearly MGF Taster Session in the fine grounds of Mycenae House, on one of the hottest days of the year!

July

We introduced our personal success stories and have since had some fantastic words of wisdom and advice from many mums that juggle working or running a business with being mum, sharing their experience, top tips and what personal success means to them. Look out for more stories in 2020!

 August

We all took some time off to go on our hollies and relax!

September

With the new term starting, we launched our digital training courses, teaching social media, collaboration tools and digital skills to all our mums. With over 90% of jobs requiring digital skills in the next 20 years, this is an exciting time to introduce this to our lessons.

October

Building on the digital skills theme, I was thrilled to be invited to join the South London Digital Skills Forum and also be on the Qualifications Board to contribute and influence future Digital training for women.

November

We celebrated our latest group of mums completing their back to work and business start-up courses. With a little help from our community and friends as guest speakers and assist in mock interviews helping our mums gain confidence and move onto work experience, paid employment or building their business.

December

Finishing a fabulous year with our Christmas Networking Event at Beckenham Place Park, with over 100 mums in one place, networking, making plans and joining us in 2020.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our adventures either as a Successful Mum yourself, as a Partner, Employer or someone that follows us on Social Media. It’s the mums that create their own success, whether that is increased confidence, a flexible role, a new career or starting a business. What we do so well is provide a fun, friendly and professional environment running our fantastic training courses with relevant career and business topics, work-life balance tips, confidence techniques all brought together by a group of like-minded women!

BIG thank you to all our mums, our partners, our employers, those that support us including Lindsay, Susanna, Steve & Lisa, Angela and Alison plus a big thank you to my fantastically dedicated team Claire, Charlotte, Julia, Janey, Georgina, Shara, Caroline, Laura, Jo and Peter.

Last but not least a big thank you to Daniel and Anna Rose, my inspiration.

Happy New Year, Jane x
