At Successful Mums, we are really big on charity and supporting our community – so much so that each month, regardless of the weather, we run 5k, 10k and a half marathon. We also organise activities like mountain climbing and abseiling in order to raise funds! We have raised nearly £3k in the past supporting charities including Mind, Evelina, Demelza, Children in Need, CASPA and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Bromley Brighter Beginings (BBB) is Successful Mums’ charity of the year 2023. This small, local charity harnesses the power of community to help vulnerable families living in financial hardship across London’s largest borough, Bromley.

Through regular fundraising activities, the Successful Mums team is raising money for the charity’s
School Uniform campaign. Having correct, smart, and well-fitting school uniform plays a big role in the mental health of
children, and BBB wants them to have a sense of pride and dignity, particularly if they are starting a new school, often due to very difficult circumstances.

The financial pressure of providing school uniform places a huge burden and stress on parents and carers who are already struggling. Which is where BBB comes in. The campaign ensures secondary pupils are properly kitted out, and offers families vouchers to purchase new shoes that are chosen by the child. For many children this will be the first time they have ever had their feet measured in a shop. Children are made truly back to school ready by the supply of water bottles, lunch boxes, school bags and stationery packs.

Donating just ten pounds will make a BIG difference. This is how your donation will help:
£10 could buy a primary school child 2 x school trousers or 2 x skirts
£15 could buy a secondary school child 2 x school trousers or 2 x pinafore dresses
£20 could buy a pair of PE trainers
£25 could buy a secondary school child a branded logo jumper
£50 could buy a secondary school child a branded logo blazer

WANT TO JOIN US?

Many of our mums join us for our events and help us raise funds for our charities. This helps inspire their children to have fun and get fit and often relates to their own personal success. Whether it’s running 10k or climbing a mountain, it’s a great way to get fit, have fun and do something amazing for charity.

We hope you can join us. Do get in touch if you would like to find out more, or if your organisation or school would benefit from an enterprising talk from Jane.
