Volunteer Fundraising Support

Location: This role is remote

We are looking for a self-starter and someone who can offer us six hours a week split across two days – worked around the applicant’s schedule.

The ideal applicant will be able to commit to working with us for a minimum of four months.

This is a voluntary part-time role so is unpaid. Reasonable expenses will be paid to cover travel costs.

About the company: NNECL is a registered charity supporting a community of professionals working to transform the progression of care experienced people into and through further and higher education.

About the role: NNECL are looking for a volunteer to support in researching and writing our applications to grants and funds that raise core and individual income from trusts, grants and statutory funds as well as advise on creating a portfolio of diverse income streams from events and actives.

The key tasks in this role will be working with the Director to develop a realistic fundraising strategy, researching funds we can apply to and approaching corporates entities for donations, event sponsorships and partnerships.

This role is integral to the growth of NNECL, you’ll be securing new partnerships and raising vital new income to support our national work in improving the educational outcomes of care experienced students.

With so much of this role depending on excellent account management, we need a real people-person, someone who considers themselves to be an excellent communicator, who can build relationships and craft compelling written narratives and who can project manage fundraising opportunities from inception all the way to evaluation.

As we look ahead, we will be introducing the option of weekly working from the business centre based at London South Bank University (London, SE1 6LF) and the volunteer will be welcome to join us, on site, when that happens. Reasonable expenses will be paid to cover travel costs.

Skills required:

  • A proven track record of effective fundraising from charitable trusts
  • Experience of successful grant applications e.g. Lottery, the Big Give, corporate and statutory funders
  • Desire to help us meet targets and the ability to work flexibly towards those targets
  • An understanding or experience of the care experience and or further or higher education
  • Ability to use own initiative, plan and manage own workload and support others
