It’s not just children heading for their first day at school!

We’re thrilled to share the inspiring journeys of some amazing mums who have completed our Working in Schools programme and are now stepping into new roles within schools. 

Growing up with a mum who was a teacher and having spent years working in pre-schools and nurseries, Maya was no stranger to the education sector. After the birth of her daughter, she longed for a career change but lacked the confidence to pursue it.

Joining our Working in Schools programme, Maya initially aimed for a school administrative role. However, the Successful Mums team helped the Maya recognise her transferable skills and the multitude of opportunities available to her.

She also completed our Level 3 Understanding Autism qualification. Now, Maya is excited to start her new journey as a teaching assistant at Downsview Primary this September. Inspired by her mum’s footsteps, she hopes to pursue a teaching apprenticeship in the future.

Maya said: “I’ve gained so much knowledge and confidence, met amazing women, got to do something for me, I feel so proud of myself and my family will benefit from my new found resource. I now have a clear career path mapped out and would highly recommend this course for anyone looking to get back to work.”

Our Working inSchools programme equips participants with essential skills such as interview preparations, classroom management, and how to build positive relationships with students, making them well-prepared for various roles within educational settings.
