I am Emma and I am a certified Life Coach at Emma Burnett Coaching.
I work with women who are looking at the challenges in their lives and provide a safe space to explore and find new ways of thinking, support them through change and maximize their potential.
My career has been stop/start really. Before I had children I worked in finance for advertising and marketing businesses. I then spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mum, where I helped my husband run his electrical business and renovated 3 houses.
In 2008 I decided to go back into full time work and I chose to go back to finance locally, I really felt invisible and unconfident, but I slowly worked my way back to a job in London for an advertising agency in 2012. I enjoyed that role, but my mental health declined in 2014 from stress in the workplace and I was made redundant in 2015. I then decided that it was the right time to train to do something new. My daughters were in their GSCE and A level exam year and I took time out to get them through their exams and start my own studies. I did Edexcel level 2 and Level 3 courses in Life Coaching and then qualified with a Diploma in Transformational Life Coaching in 2016.

When I was trying to start a new business from scratch, in 2016, I attended a one-day workshop with Jane and the Successful Mums Academy which gave me the focus to begin. I was then offered the opportunity to dig a bit deeper on the six-week course. I found it so helpful to develop a business plan and learn about marketing. We had some wonderful guest speakers who shared their experiences and gave us the inspiration to keep going. It was great to share the course with other mums who were building their business ideas too, we shared our knowledge and experience with each other and I kept in touch with some of them as they became my practice coaching clients! I will always remember Jane’s quote ‘Be a Pineapple, stand tall and wear a crown!’
