Find out how our Business Start-up Course gave Caroline the confidence she needed to move her VA business forward…

I had actually ‘launched’ my business shortly before attending the Successful Mums Business Start-Up Course. I’d met some local Virtual Assistants who kept telling me to just ‘go for it’ but, despite having most elements in place, I felt that I needed to fill some gaps in my business skills knowledge to feel fully confident.

The course helped me to work through the essential steps for any Business Start-Up such as writing a proper business plan, working out my finances and considering all necessary legalities. More than anything though it gave me the confidence in the skills I already had and to move forward with promoting my services.

My business is providing administrative support to small businesses and individuals. As a Virtual Assistant, I work remotely on a range of administration tasks for a portfolio of clients. This can be day to day tasks such as diary/document management, social media or managing a bigger project from start to finish. My background is in Higher Education, but my skills are transferable to pretty much any kind of business.

The course gave me the opportunity to study with like-minded mums, all at varying stages of setting up their own businesses. Going forward, this will be a great network to ask for advice and share ideas with.

The course is very well organised and covers everything you need to know. There’s a lot of hard work but our trainer was amazing and always on hand to help!
